I fucking love super hero movies so let’s just start this review with that disclaimer. This is what superhero movies should be. Just straight fun from beginning to end. This movie I think solidifies Tom Holland as the number 1 Spiderman of our generation over Tobey and Andrew. This movie feels like it was ripped straight from the comics in the absolute best way with so many shots actually being direct copies of scenes in the classic Spidey comics. Destin Daniel Cretton is proving he is one of the top young directors when it comes to fight sequences, but this movie finds a way to pull on your heart strings and bring the pure raw emotion to the big screen. A great time at the theater with a very active and engaged audience creating the best atmosphere for a movie of this caliber. Andy Approved

 I’ve seen the reviews online and thought there was a chance it may be overhyped. I was wrong. I’d have to watch it again to make this claim, but it is possibly one of if not the greatest movie ever made. Each actor even if they are on screen for 10 seconds takes full advantage and gives the performance of a lifetime. The cinematography is stunning and their use of real life locations over built sets allows the viewer to fully immerse themselves in this epic. Ludwig Goranson has solidified himself as one of the greatest living composers and his use of ancient musical instruments to build up the intensity of a scene is like nothing I’ve experienced before. The intensity of the battle scenes to the pure emotion from the characters is rivaled by only in my opinion the greatest movie ever made, Lord of the Rings Return of the King. I seriously can’t wait to see it again. It is also the loudest movie I’ve ever seen. I don’t know how, but the speakers were literally shaking the seats it was so loud. I’m in pure awe at the genius of Christopher Nolan. Give this movie every award and every other movie this year should just be happy to be allowed to be shown on the same screens the Odyssey was once on.

What the fuck did I just watch? I am not a fan of horror movies, but if I was I think the score would be in the mid 9’s. It’s officially the halfway point of the year and I’m ready to give out some Oscars. Give Inde Navarrette the Oscar for best actress right now. Just an insanely impressive performance from beginning to end. Whoever the composer was deserves an Oscar as well as the score was almost its own character in the movie. There are so many hidden Easter eggs in this movie that as you start to pick them up it leaves you in awe at the level of detail this cast and crew went to on a tiny budget. As I sat in the theatre trying to piece together what I just witnessed my friend, who had already seen the movie, just stared at me as she grinned while saying “ I told you” over and over. Do not take the kids to see this masterpiece!

Did any of you ever see the original footage online of the backrooms about 5 years that went viral? Pretty insane they were able to make a movie based off a 4chan post where a guy took a picture of any empty office building and just said it looked spooky. The fact the creator and director is only 20 is extremely impressive and Chiwetel Ejiofor is way too good of an actor to be in this movie. Overall the film thrives with its score which creates a sense of dread throughout its nearly 2 hour run time. Although the film at times is very predictable it still finds ways to bring a bit of originality to the screen. I don’t think you need to see this in theaters maybe best to wait to watch at home.

This movie is hard to review because about 50% of the movie is just them showing old stunts and pranks from the previous movies. Johnny Knoxville claims this will be the last jackass movie and I actually kinda believe him. It was very obvious that their bodies just can’t do the same stunts their younger selves were able to do and had to resort to more comedy based pranks rather than stunts. Although it was enjoyable and nostalgic it felt like watching Shaq on the Celtics. What saves this movie is them showing 3 stunts/pranks that were filmed back during late 90’s & early 2000’s that were deemed too dangerous to ever air. The movie opens with one of them and I’m surprised they were even allowed to air it now. Overall I I found the movie fun and still a good time at the theater.

The fact this movie is on pace to be the biggest box office loser of 2026 is a travesty and we as a society must do better to appreciate fun movies when we are given them. This movie does a great job at poking fun at the toy/ tv shows corniness and excels with its great action sequences and comedic timing. If this movie was made in 2007 it would have received the same love as Transformers as a well done live action movie based on a toy franchise. Is it a great movie? Absolutely not. Is it incredibly entertaining? Absolutely yes.

Spielberg, Blunt and Aliens. What more do you need? Emily Blunt once again shines as the most underrated actress of our generation. A beautifully shot movie which uses stellar camera work to keep the viewer fully engaged and focused on the action on screen. The story lacks a little bit of originality, but is carried by the performances of the main cast. While parts of the movie can feel repetitive the final sequence had me on the edge of my seat feeling as though this is happening in the real world. Do you believe in Aliens?

Is Karl Urban the most underrated action star of our generation? Having portrayed some absolutely iconic roles in the past it seems he still gets overlooked, but this time he is front and center and boy does he deliver. This movie from the start is awesome fight scene after awesome fight scene delivering pure nostalgia with every finisher. This movie took me back to my late teens/ early twenties being drunk at Family Fun Arcade watching the Asian kids go nuts on the Mortal Kombat machines while I played Cruisin World. Unless you like total gore and brutal deaths I do not recommend this movie, but if you can stomach it you are in for one fun ride.

It’s rare in today’s world of obvious money grabs where we get a sequel 20 years later that truly can hold up with the original. This is the Top Gun Maverick to Devil Wears Prada’s Top Gun. Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt all step back into their roles as if they never left and though at times the movie felt like taking a bath in the nostalgia of the original it found a way to add fresh hot water making you want to stay in it until your fingers are pruned. A soundtrack that provides a sense of grandeur and scale and a supporting cast that makes you constantly say “wow I haven’t seen that person in a long time”. Highly recommend seeing this in the theatre for a fun and enjoyable movie going experience

From the creator of The Martian comes the story of a man stranded in space using science to save his life except this time he has a rock as his alien sidekick. The movie somehow makes astrophysics feel like a group project where Earth is the slacker teammate and one exhausted guy has to do everything the night before it’s due. Visually, it’s stunning. Emotionally, it sneaks up on you. Physically, I may have shed a small tear. A great feel good buddy adventure that makes 2 and a half hours absolutely fly by. Highly reccomend
